A few links for the late night crowd
July 3, 2012 (1:31 AM) by Matt Benson     Email This Post Email This Post

For the three other people still awake right now, here are some links (or you are reading this in the morning).

All signs are pointing towards a Michael Bradley move to Roma according to Greg Seltzer.  I guess Monaco made a late move for him, but Mr. Bradley wants to stay in Italy.

No word on what is up with Carlos Bocanegra or Maurice Edu, but Alejandro Bedoya has at least returned to training at Rangers.  He could still transfer out in the future, but who knows as that whole club is a mess right now.

Aston Villa winger Marc Albrighton had some nice things to say about teammate Eric Lichaj this week.

Frank Simek is expected to sign a new deal with Carlisle United this week.

Danny Williams is back on the field playing as Joe Gyau and Williams both played in a recent friendly for Hoffenheim.  It also looks like Williams played at center back.

And finally, Diego Chavarri is now playing with CD Cobresol in Peru this season and he scored a nice goal this past weekend (0:45 mark).  A hat tip to Brian Sciaretta for the goal footage.

  1. Trent Hill says:

Williams at center-back would be welcome news. While we have more than enough talent at defensive midfielder, we struggle at centerback (though I still think the solution is Boca/Parkhurst).

I expect Bedoya to go back to Orerbro. He could stay at Rangers though.

Bradley moving to Monaco would be good. Moving to Roma would be great. That’s assuming he starts consistently at whatever club he goes to.

  2. 2tone says:

    Nope the solution is Cameron/Boca.

Why would Bradley moving from Serie A to French ligue 2 be a good move? He has already turned down the Monaco offer. He also turned down Fiorentina, and specifically told Chievo he wants to move to Roma. Which Seltzer has reported is all but finalised. Roma and Bradley just have to agree on some personal terms.

The thing about Williams is that Hoffenheim will move him in three different positions i.e. DCM, CB, and RB. I don’t care if he becomes a DCM or CB he needs to stay at a position consistently this upcoming season!

  3. Steve Trittschuh says:

Bedoya should consider an MLS move if he doesn’t receive any good offers in Europe. He’d be a good fit for the Galaxy.

  4. Trevor says:

Love the idea of D. Williams at CB. I love the idea of him anywhere, just hope it’s consistent.

Glad to see Gyau getting some more looks. Hope he’s able to break the first time this year. He’d look good with what JK is building. I’ve really started to like Jozy in the last year but I’m still scared about how he fits into the quick transition game we highlighted against Scotland.

  5. Trent Hill says:

2tone, didn’t realize Monaco had dropped to Ligue2. It wouldn’t be a good move, then.

Bedoya moving to MLS would likely end his career for the Nats and lower his pay. He could make more money and get more attention via Orerbro.
