Here are a bunch of links from the last five or so days while my internet stopped working. Lets start off with the USMNT.
The official USMNT blog has it usual posts and goodies while the team is in camp. They also have a couple of photos from training up on the US Soccer Facebook Page.
I am sure of a lot of you already know this, but the US-Guatemala World Cup qualifier will only be on PPV in the US, but US Soccer has a nice F.A.Q. up on what is going on exactly. Of course Traffic Sports is involved.
Steven Goff has an update on the tickets sales for the upcoming games.
Brian Sciaretta gives us some storylines with the team after the roster announcement, while the folks at The Shin Guardian have their US-Scotland preview up. I also didn’t get a chance to really promote this, but Howie did an Inside the Numbers piece looking at the USMNT rosters before each of the previous two qualification processes and compares it to now.
Now looking at some of the players in the camp.
Landon Donovan did a two-part interview with FIFA.com: Part 1 | Part 2. He also did an interview with Grant Wahl this week. I thought he said some interesting things in the interview with Wahl (i.e. He lacks the fire that makes Dempsey special and the fact that he is aware of it).
ESPN Insider ($) has updated their USMNT blog with an interview with Jurgen Klinsmann, while Brent Latham thinks this will be an important summer for Terrence Boyd as he potentially looks for a new home.
As for some quick U-20 news. The US U-20 team (as well as Mexico) will be participating in the 2012 Milk Cup in July. That tournament is always fun to follow along with.
Now for some more club-based news.
Tim Ream recently did a blog for Goal.com about relegation and the USMNT team. Speaking of Bolton, their 2012-13 kit has not been released/leaked, but it looks like they are switching from Reebok to Adidas. Why do I find this interesting? They play at the Reebok Stadium (the stadium will still be called Reebok Stadium).
A report out of Belgium has Gent passing on signing Mikkel Diskerud to a permanent move, but a club source told Brian Sciaretta that they haven’t made a decision yet.
Molde FK’s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has withdrawn his name from the Aston Villa manager hat. He could have left Josh Gatt for Eric Lichaj. I am sure the “Gatt to Villa” rumors would have been spinning if he would have ended up with the job.
Mathew Wagner of Yanks Abroad has a story up on Patrick Hopkins and Steffen Vroom. The current teammates at Ljungskile in Sweden both played collegiately at DePaul.
US Soccer Daily takes a look at Michael Parkhurst’s trophy run with FC Norsjaelland after their league title today.
