Links before the weekend

As we inch closer to the USMNT friendlies and qualifiers, Brazil has announced its roster for the friendly against the US.  Some big names.

It looks like Clint Dempsey’s season will end with 17 league goals as he has been ruled out of Fulham’s season finale with an injury.  Dempsey was also named to Gary Neville’s Team of the Year.

Speaking of injuries, Jonathan Spector’s quad injury from earlier this week is not that serious according to club sources at Birmingham City.

Matthew Doyle of MLSsoccer.com has a nice story up on Michael Bradley.

Greg Seltzer talked to Sacha Kljestan this week and it looks like Kljestan and Anderlecht are currently talking about a contract extension.  His current deal runs through 2014.

Anton Peterlin will be looking for a new home this summer as he was one of six players released by Walsall this week.

Sticking in the lower levels of England, Mike Grella was offered a new deal with Bury.  Grella scored four goals in 10 appearances with Bury this season after stints with Brentford and Leeds United in 2011-12.

Enjoy the weekend.

It’s nice to see someone acknowledge Dempsey’s superb season.
