A couple links for Tuesday

Jurgen Klinsmann held a Q&A session on Twitter today.  Of the bigger news announced, he will announce the European-based players for the upcoming games on May 15, while the MLS guys will be revealed on May 20.  He will also select 29 guys, but will trim it down to 23 before the friendly against Scotland after holding a camp in Orlando.

Du Nord has the whole transcript right here.

American businessman Bill Miller has pulled his bid to buy Rangers after some hostility from fans.

They might be under financial crisis, but Stabaek will be playing in next year’s Europa League qualifying due to fair play rankings.  That means some quality competition for Sean Cunningham and Ricardo Clark.

With FC Schalke in Philadelphia to take on the Union in a friendly this week, got some quotes from Jermaine Jones about the possibility of playing in MLS in the future.

Typical of Rangers fans. Someone wants to save their club–but he’s the wrong type of person.

  2. Thursby says:

Ranger fans would rather have no club, then have it owned by an American. Brilliant!

  3. Award says:

Why would the announcement of the European/Mexican based players roster be announced on the same day as the Camp starts? That doesn’t make any sense.

  4. Steve Trittschuh says:

Bill Miller is better off. Good move on his part.

  5. Jerry says:

Any idea on where and when in Orlando the training camp will be held. I’d love to go watch.

  6. Kyle says:

Can Celtic transfer over to the English FA system? They can’t be left as the only good team in the league haha, maybe start out in the championship.

  7. Trent Hill says:

Kyle–they wish. Truth be told, a lot of the fans like it, but the SFA, FA, and FIFA would probably all be upset about it. As would all the Scottish clubs, including Rangers.

Truth be told, Celtic wouldn’t be the same in the FA. They’re used to winning trophies. Big piles of trophies. In the FA, they’d win cups…occasionally.
