A case of the Monday links
April 30, 2012 (6:09 PM) by Matt Benson     Email This Post Email This Post

A few things for you on this gloomy Monday.

The Independent did a pretty good story on Tim Ream and his whirlwind first couple months at Bolton last Friday.

US Soccer has a Q&A with Jurgen Klinsmann on how he and his assistant coaches scout the various players.

Steven Goff gives us an update on the ticket sales for the upcoming USMNT matches.  Klinsi is about 10 days away from naming his roster for the upcoming camp.

Richie Williams talks with Travis Clark about the US U-17’s most recent trip.

Kaiserslautern are auctioning off various game-worn jerseys, including Andrew Wooten’s from his game against Hertha Berlin where he scored his first senior-team goal.

Two guys were in action today.  Oguchi Onyewu went the full 90 minutes in Sporting CP’s 2-1 victory over Académica.  With two games left, Sporting CP are three points behind Sporting Braga for a Champions League qualifier spot.   And in Sweden, Ryan Miller went the full 90 minutes in Halmstads BK’s 3-1 win over Trelleborg FF.

As for some site updates.

Howie will be introducing a new feature to the site tomorrow.  I originally tweeted that it was coming today, but I am a moron and got my days mixed up.  That will be coming tomorrow.

I am also heading to Manchester tomorrow for some vacation, so I won’t be around the site normally until next Monday.  Howie will be in charge of things while I am gone, but I will try to post something here or there if I have time.  I do plan on doing a post once I get back with some photos from the various games I am going to. Currently on the schedule is Tottenham at Bolton (Friedel vs. Ream), Manchester City stadium tour, Carlisle United at Oldham Athletic (Frank Simek sighting!) and likely Swansea City at Manchester United (no Yanks, boo).

  1. Award says:

Lets hope the ticket sales for the Antigua WC qualifier starts to really boom in May. Probably looking at around 35,000 total attendance for the Scotland Friendly. The Brasil Friendly will probably bring in around 60,000 to 65,000.

  2. Steve Trittschuh says:

Matt — bring back some video from the Carlisle/Oldham game. I’ve heard Oldham supporters get pretty wild. Should be a good game!!!
