A few more links for Wednesday
April 25, 2012 (11:42 PM) by Matt Benson     Email This Post Email This Post

Since I am in a good mood (and actually have time), I am going to drop some more links on you guys.

Robbie Rogers recently had his surgery on his ankle (photographic proof!) and he recently did a Q&A with

Conor O’Brien and SønderjyskE were knocked out of the semifinals of the Danish Cup.  They beat FC Copenhagen, 4-3, today in the second leg, but the aggregate score was 4-4 and they lost out on the away goals rule.

Greg Seltzer talked to Sean Cunningham about his loan move to Stabæk.

While we have been complaining about the PFA Team of the Year, the folks over at The Shin Guardian came up with their own XI of the Year for the Premier League.

Speaking of teams of the year, Howie and I are slowly putting the final touches on this year’s OT XI.  It should hopefully be up in the next two weeks.  We have a base lineup, but want to see how the final weeks play out.

And finally, Top Drawer Soccer quickly updates us with a couple of really young Americans in youth academies in Europe, including Barcelona’s Ben Lederman.

With the news of R. Rogers being out for awhile, I realize, its official, the USMNT has depth. Rogers, a Championship player, will not affect the USMNT roster at all. Not to long ago playing for a Championship team almost guaranteed a spot on the USMNT roster but today the future is bright. Lets just hope we can get some new young CBs.

  2. Award says:

Lets hope Barcelona extends Ledermans contract. A lot of Barcelona’s youth coaches have said that he reminds them of a young Iniesta or Xavi. Should be suiting up for the U.S. U-17’s in a couple of years.

  3. Kyle says:

Remind me about Lederman about 6 years from now when hes 18 and I might listen then.

  4. Trent Hill says:

OT XI–Im hoping to see Gerzicich’s name. And Josh Gatt’s. Maybe Alex Smith’s. Definitely Gomez’s.
