A couple links for Wednesday afternoon
   April 25, 2012 (12:17 PM) by Matt

A couple quick things.

Timothy Chandler signed an extension with FC Nurnberg today, which will keep him at the club through 2015.

Staying in Germany, Danny Williams will be out the next four to six weeks with a partial tear of a shoulder muscle.  He will miss Hoffenheim’s last two games and likely the next USMNT friendlies.

While you already know our stance on Clint Dempsey and the PFA Team of the Year, Dempsey did finish fourth in the Footballer of the Year award given out by the Football Writers’ Association.

And I keep forgetting to post this, but Babajide Ogunbiyi and Viborg FF finally decided to come to an agreement after his falling out after having a surgery in the US, but he is back with the club and currently regaining match fitness with the reserve team.

  1. Ian says:

I don’t have a problem with Dempsey being 4th (congrats to him!) but Scholes at 3rd is absurd.

  2. Davis says:

Yeah Scholes is class no question but he only played five months. Not to mention playing at United. Dempsey’s been playing out of his mind all year on a mid table club

  3. Cam says:

the snub makes even less sense now, he’s the 4th best player in the premier league but not worthy of the 1st 11…doesn’t make much sense to me

  4. Matt says:

Cam, the Team of the Year was voted on by the players while this Player of the Year award was voted on by the writers/press.

That said, still doesn’t make a lot of sense.
