Monday afternoon links
April 16, 2012 (5:39 PM) by Matt Benson     Email This Post Email This Post

The biggest news of the day is the new USMNT jerseys, which you can check out/talk about here.  So the replica has solid red stripes, while the authentic has a cutout in the front for a number and on the back for the number (and name if Klinsy decides to put them back on).

Grant Wahl gave us his Top 15 Yanks Abroad single seasons last Friday, but since I haven’t done a links post in a couple days, I have been holding onto this link.  A good mix of old and more recent seasons.

The US Legends defeated the Mexico Legends, 2-0 (yes!), on Sunday at the Home Depot Center.  The goals were scored by Roy Lassiter and Brian McBride.  Seriously, that score couldn’t have been any better.

Michael Parkhurst didn’t play this weekend due to a broken toe.  No word on how long he will be out.

Josh Gatt also didn’t play for Molde today, but I can’t figure out exactly why.  But it doesn’t seem like it is anything too serious.

And nothing new on the Robbie Rogers front.  He had x-rays today on his ankle, but no word on the extent of his injury.

And finally, Chris Rolfe is returning to the US to play for the Chicago Fire.  Rolfe and Aalborg mutually decided to part ways.  The last time we saw Rolfe playing for Aalborg, he was sent off with a red card after kicking an opponent.

you aren’t confused about jurgen’s stance on the whole no-name thing, right? he has said that for international competitions they will obviously get the name and numbers, not sure about WCQs though… guess we’ll see but no names for friendlies is a permanent thing

  2. Trent Hill says:

Onyewu, Whitbread, Parkhurst, and Goodson all injured. That’s no good.

  3. Award says:

Gooch is training again. Should be back in the first team in a week or so. Don’t think Whitbreads injury is anything serious. Should be back this weekend. Goodson don’t know the extent, and Parkhurst is likley out up to 8 weeks with his broken toe.

  4. Trent Hill says:

They’re saying Parkhurst isn’t that bad, actually.
