Only a couple things for Thursday
   December 22, 2011 (5:26 PM) by Matt

Doing a lot of family stuff today, so here a few quick things.

Brad Friedel and Tottenham played to a 1-1 draw against Chelsea.

Oguchi Onyewu and Sporting CP won 3-0 over Marítimo in the Taça de Portugal.

Much like the rumor from the other day, Eddie Johnson is headed to Puebla.

After a successful trial, Greg Garza is headed to Club Tijuana.

And most of you know that we like numbers and statistical stuff and here a few things done by Greg Seltzer.

  1. Steve Trittschuh says:

If Eddie can’t score on slower, short Mexicans, he’s not going to score anywhere. The man needs to put some balls in the back of the net and regain confidence.

  2. Award says:

If EJ can score with effeciency in Mexcio than that puts him solidly back into the USMNT picture. It’s nice that Jozy has scored 9 goals in all competitions, but he has only scored 5 goals in the eredivisie. The rate he is going he will score only 11 goals in the Eredivisie. Thats not a prolific goal scorer; also considering that the Dutch league is known for really lacking in the defensive side of the game. Hopefully Altidore rounds into a better goal scoring form in the second half of the season.

  3. Cam says:

9 goals before the new year across all competitions…you honestly can’t tell me you’re disappointed with that, he’s the 2nd leading scorer on the first place team in the Eredivisie

the other 4 goals were in the Europa league…that’s not easy

  4. Kyle says:

Eddie Johnson couldn’t score on an open net
