It is basically morning in France, so here are some “morning” links

You can blame this late night edition of links on me going to a Thrice concert.  If you are into heavier rock/alternative, I highly recommend seeing them.  A very good live band.

The USMNT camp is under way, which means we have some photos and more photos from training.

US Soccer’s website also has a quick interview up with Jermaine Jones. Plus an interview with Maurice Edu.

Slovenia finally announced its roster for Tuesday’s game.

The Shin Guardian decides to play contrarian and defends Michael Orozco Fiscal with some facts and stats.

Moving over to the youth scene.

Brian Sciaretta caught up with Terrence Boyd and Perry Kitchen as they start up the U-23 camp.

Some might remember that U-17 midfielder Marc Pelosi was rumored to have been offered a contract with Liverpool this summer.  Well, he officially signed with the club this week.  He becomes the second American to sign with the club this year as Villyan Bijev signed with Liverpool this summer (and is currently out on loan with Fortuna Dusseldorf).

Matt likes soccer. He likes sleeping in. He is also amused easily. That is pretty much it.

Really, Thrice? That emo rot wasn’t even good in 2002. No offense, mind you.

  2. Matt says:

@montana matt – I understand what you are saying, but their music has changed a bit as they have gotten older. It is not as emo/screamo as their 1999-2003 days.

I usually find the Shin Guardian pieces to be nothing but crap, but their piece on Orozco-Fishscale was interesting. They had me convinced — the Nats are better at keeping possession better with Fishscale on the field.

  4. Kyle says:

Heavy Serie A influence in the Slovenian team. Should be an interesting challenge again for us.
