Some little nuggets of information for this afternoon.
* As expected, Alejandro Bedoya will officially replace Benny Feilhaber on the Gold Cup roster. Feilhaber is expected to miss 3-6 weeks with an ankle injury.
* For those that care about these things, the US will be wearing their all white kits tomorrow against Canada, while our neighbors to the north will be wearing red tops with black shorts.
* And DaMarcus Beasley’s trial/workouts with Pachuca is apparently going well.
Wouldn’t it be interesting if DaMarcus plays out of his mind next season? With top players playing almost year round with international games, club games and all the various cup games I think it will be very interesting to see how someone who has basically taken a year off from playing soccer performs. If he does well maybe he’ll start a trend where players take a year off late in their careers. I know players have a relatively short time to make their money, but what if it actually helped prolong their careers? I honestly don’t expect any of this too happen, but I think it’s a cool “what if” scenario.
