While all the attention on this site this week has been on the USMNT, here is a look at Argentina’s team for this weekend. Also, it looks like Lionel Messi will start against the US despite picking up a little knock recently.
Arch Bell also recently caught up with goalkeeper Joseph Bendik as he starts up his season in Norway. Bendik will be trying to keep Sogndal in Norway’s Eliteserien after earning promotion from last year’s Adeccoligaen (second division). He was the starting goalkeeper last weekend in their 2-1 season-opening loss to Strømsgodset.
Going back to the USMNT, Greg Seltzer talked to Benny Feilhaber about his current club situation. There were a lot of rumors during the winter transfer window about him leaving AGF Aarhus, but he is staying with the club until the end of the season. It looks like Aarhus will be promoted back to the Danish Superliga (currently seven points ahead of second place and 10 points ahead of third place), so there is still a chance he stays in Denmark.
Anthony Mannino thinks the USMNT will need Charlie Davies at this summer’s Gold Cup. There is also a cool tribute video to Davies at the bottom of that page.
Slightly off topic, but the movie Pelada is now on Netflix. So stop reading this site for a second and go put that movie in your queue. It is highly approved by myself and Howie. But the more people put this in their queue, the more it will become available to others as they see the demand is high for the movie.
Finally, here are two Inside the Lines from US Soccer. The first is of the US U-20 team training in Dallas for the upcoming CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Guatemala. And the second is the USMNT’s training from Cary.
