CONCACAF held a draw today to determine the groups and host sites for this summer’s Gold Cup. The USMNT will be in Group C with Canada, Panana and Guadeloupe. Here are all the groups:
GROUP A: Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Cuba
GROUP B: Honduras, Guatemala, Jamaica, Grenada
GROUP C: USA, Canada, Panama, Guadeloupe
The US will play Canada in Detroit (Ford Field) on June 7, Panama in Tampa (Raymond James Stadium) on June 11 and Guadeloupe in Kansas City (LIVESTRONG Sporting Park) on June 14.
US Soccer has some quotes up from Bob Bradley on the draw/games/stadiums.
What do you think of the draw? I think Group A is probably the toughest at first glance.

These group game locations sure lack excitement. If the U.S. is in the Rose Bowl for the final I may just have to make the trip south for the game.
I can’t complain since the Final is in LA/Rose Bowl, but the Home Depot Center games are sort of lame.
Also, I can’t believe it has been 17 years since the last USMNT game in Detroit.
The game in Kansas City should be interesting. New stadium, and hopefully new and greater interest in their MLS team.
i was hoping the final would be at dallas cowboys stadium…
The US/Canada game in Detroit should be lively since the Chicago/Columbus US fans will likely be there along with a decent contingent from Canada since Ford Field is just over one mile from the border.
I just realized that I might be attending a wedding out of state the weekend of the Gold Cup Final. Booooo.
Looks like we have a nice draw. Hopefully Canada’s under-achieving streak will carry on into 2011.
now the important question? who the hell is gonna play? have we seen the last of demerit bocanegra and cherundolo? i hear no chance for youths like agudelo and shea… ihope they make it along with freddy adu
