Eric Lichaj headed to Leeds United on loan
February 9, 2011 (12:26 PM) by Matt Benson     Email This Post Email This Post

After disappearing to the bench after Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier singled him out after a bad performance against Manchester City in December, Eric Lichaj has finally re-appeared.  But the next time he sees the field, it will be with Leeds United.

The 22-year-old right back is headed to Leeds United on a month-long loan as they look for cover for their normal starter, Paul Connolly, as he battles a hamstring injury.

This will be Lichaj’s third loan stint over the last 1.5 seasons, playing with Lincoln City and Leyton Orient in 2009-10.

But Lichaj will have a chance to see the field again, which is a good thing, with Leeds United having six games during his stay at Elland Road.

As for some other little links:  Jeremy Vuolo is the latest American headed to Finland.  Gale Agbossoumonde’s loan deal is still not completed, but getting closer.  Charles Renken is finally fit again and is looking to play with TSG Hoffenheim’s U-19/reserve teams.

  1. Kyle says:

This is great because Lichaj had no chance of cracking into the starting lineup at Villa.

  2. Steve Trittschuh says:

Leeds United is a strong side too. Making a run for promotion. Good move for Lichaj, the young Polish horse.
