Freddy Adu and Oguchi Onyewu, remember them?
January 6, 2011 (1:09 PM) by Matt Benson     Email This Post Email This Post

Yanks Abroad is reporting that Freddy Adu is now on trial with German 2. Bundesliga side FC Ingolstadt.  If he were to make the squad, he would join fellow American Amaechi Igwe on the team.

Steve Goff’s latest update on Oguchi Onyewu has him in Europe to finalize a loan deal with FC Twente.  Goff thinks we will see an official announcement within a week.

Villarreal defeated Valencia, 4-2, in the Copa del Rey today, but Jozy Altidore sat on the bench for the whole game.  He has yet to play much since Nilmar went down with a knee injury.

Forward-turned-defender Seb Harris could be spending a third month at English Conference North side Stafford Rangers.  Stafford Rangers manager Tim Flowers is hoping to extend the loan deal with Northampton Town (English League Two).

And finally, in case you wanted to know which of the USMNT January camp members have the lowest body fat percentage, today is your lucky day!

This could be a good move for Freddy if it works out. FC Ingolstadt is struggling right now, which means he could get a chance to play and if the team starts doing well he could be hailed as a hero for helping them survive relegation.

  3. Daryl says:

Happy for Gooch. Was really hoping he might have turned up at my beloved Wolves (we need an extra central defender, and I think Gooch is more consistent than either Berra or Stearman) but failing that happy to just see him play again.

Also, the fact that Preud’homme knows what Gooch can do means there’ll be no worries about proving himself etc.

  4. Kyle says:

Supposedly, according to ESPN, Adu has actually been signed by Ingolstadt today.

  5. Kyle says:

Big News: Eugene Starikov has flown in and joined the January Camp last night.
