Tijuana midfielder Joe Corona, who had been on loan to Veracruz during the Apetura, was picked up as a loanee during the weird Liga MX draft. He’ll join a Dorados team that is fighting relegation. After earning just 15 points in its first season in Liga MX, Dorados will need a surge to stay up.
Liga MX relegation is a little more complicated, but Sinaloa was four points behind the pace of Morelia (ie., they would have needed 19 points from 17 to be equal with Morelia’s current pace). They need Morelia or Guadlajara to have a bad apetura campaign or do very well (they’d need about 23 points at current paces).
Dorados is owned by the same group as Tijuana (Liga MX is weird) and has basically served as their reserve team at times.
