Rhett Bernstein is looking for a new club
November 24, 2015 (9:01 PM) by Howie Michaels     Email This Post Email This Post

San Diegan and former Brown University defender Rhett Bernstein, who spent four years toiling in the second tier with Mjøndalen before experiencing Tippeligaen glory this season, was limited late in the season due to an injury as Mjøndalen was relegated back down. He has now opted to find a new club instead of returning to the 2nd tier.

Bernstein is looking for a first-division opportunity. He indicates that MLS teams might be interested; he was invited to the combine in 2009 but wasn’t drafted and bounced around training stints and clubs in Europe, Israel, Puerto Rico, and indoor soccer before latching on with Mjøndalen.

Howie once received a death threat at a USA-Brazil friendly. He still believes in Fred Adu. He plays forward in coed rec, although not well.
