Ararat Yerevan signs three Americans

You no doubt remember the excitement we all had over Tigran Tiraturyan signing with FC Pyunik, providing us a reason to become your go-to site for coverage of the Armenian Premier League. Now, we have three more reasons to track news from Transcaucasia, as Ararat Yerevan has signed three Americans to contracts for the upcoming season.

Bryan de la Fuente is probably the most notable of the three, having spent multiple spells with Chivas USA as well as a brief stint in Tijuana and some PDL gigs.

We’ve mentioned Jamel Wallace here once, when he was on trial in Sweden. He was a late draft pick by Seattle in 2010 and has spent time with a couple of USL Pro outfits in addition to his current stint in the PDL.

I’m having trouble finding stuff on Christian King beyond the fact that he’s 26 and a midfielder. is b

Ararat Yerevan is best-known for winning the 1973 Soviet double.

    the farthest i remember is Dinamo Minsk’s triumph in 1982 :p

    Ararat Yereven was one of those teams that really suffered from the collapse of the Soviet League. They were “the team” in Armenia and everyone supported them–they had money, they had access to players, etc. Kind of like Dynamo Kyiv, but less so.
