Poll: Favorite US World Cup goal?
July 17, 2014 (8:00 AM) by Matt Benson     Email This Post Email This Post

I posted this list yesterday, but Deadspin/Screamer ranked all 171 World Cup goals.  Now it is time to pick your favorite goal scored by the US.  You can go by any voting standard that you want.

Maybe you think John Brooks’ goal is the best since it won the game.  Maybe you like Julian Green’s goal since it came on his first touch.  Maybe you like Clint Dempsey’s goal against Portugal since you like pelvic thrusts.  Just pick your favorite below.

Clint Dempsey vs. Ghana

John Brooks vs. Ghana

Jermaine Jones vs. Portugal

Clint Dempsey vs. Portugal

Julian Green vs. Belgium

after going behind in the first five minutes of the last two World Cups I can’t emphasize how happy it made me to jump ahead in the first minute.

the pelvic thrust goal was a perfect summary of the player who made me love soccer.

One think to note….these are all world class goals. None of these are flukes or own goals or funny bounces. These are all class goals.

  5. William says:

John Brooks goal because it meant we finally beat Ghana!!!

  6. Dirk says:

I voted for Brooks. A great moment pulling it out of the fire in the last minutes of the game. Plus Brooks reaction was tremendous.
