Report – US to face Ecuador in October
July 16, 2014 (1:17 PM) by Matt Benson     Email This Post Email This Post

Fresh off last week’s rumor that the US will play Ireland in November, this report out of Ecuador has the US playing the Tricolor in a friendly in October.  The location is TBD and the game would take place between October 6-14 according to the Ecuadorian Football Federation.

The US is 2-5-4 all-time against Ecuador, losing 1-0 in the last meeting between these two teams at Red Bull Arena on October 11, 2011.

Ecuador is currently ranked #26 by FIFA and #19 by Elo.  And they were unable to get out of Group E at the 2014 World Cup.

Thoughts on the rumored friendly?

I hope it’s true and I hope its in the US. Not sure if they would want to come back after two September friendlies here though.
