Catching up on life links

I am still playing catch up on things, but here are a few links from the last couple of days.

Michael Bradley and Chris Wondolowski talked about their goals from last week’s draw to Mexico.

It looks like Jozy Altidore has fallen out of favor at Sunderland at the moment as he didn’t dress on Monday with the senior team and actually suited up with the U-21 team.

A few guys played in the Championship yesterday, but Danny Williams missed Reading’s game with a knee injury, while Oguchi Onyewu picked up a rib injury and missed Sheffield Wednesday’s game on Tuesday.

Julian Green didn’t play with Bayern Munich II over the weekend due to the shoulder injury that he picked up in the US-Mexico friendly.  According to his dad, he will be out a couple weeks.

I guess there might be some interest by West Bromwich Albion for Tim Ream.  Yay UK tabloids!

Marc Pelosi has finally returned to action with Liverpool’s U-21 team after breaking his leg 14 months ago.

On the US U-18 front, forward Dembakwi Yomba has signed with Atletico Madrid, while forward Andrija Novakovich has signed with Reading.

The Fighting Bob Bradleys are in first place of the Tippeligaen after defeating Brann, 2-1, over the weekend.

And finally, there were seven goals scored over the weekend.  I was finally able to update the goal tracker with highlights of six of the seven goals.  Aron Johannsson also got grabbed in the junk.

If you saw Sunderland’s game on Monday, you know that it’s become obvious that Jozy was the one piece that has been holding back the entire team. Just look at the astonishing attacker stats that are dwarfing Jozy’s single; Fletcher w/ 3 goals, Borini w/ 3 goals and Scocco w/ 0.

Being formerly loosely affiliated with sunderland as a player, I’ve watched them a lot over the past few years. Altidore signing with them scared me. The Stadium of Light has killed more than their fair share of good, young strikers.
