Geoff Cameron went 90 minutes and nearly scored his second goal of the season against Arsenal in the Potters’ 1-0 win over the Gunners. Here are the highlights with Cameron’s near miss around the 0:25 mark.
Cameron was excellent. I can only recall him being beat once while on defense and he had covering help which may have dictated him making an attempt for the ball. It was interesting that for about the first 10-15 minutes of the game he was extremely far up field, basically staying in the attacking third. His crosses varied from OK to exceptional and he struck a ferocious volley a couple feet wide. Toward the end of the game when Arsenal was pressing a couple of his clearances went straight to Arsenal players, but they still had enough distance on them that nothing dangerous resulted. I really can’t imagine anyone except him starting at RB for the World Cup.
I wonder where his limit is? He has been developing so fast and obviously never had the same football education his European counterparts had as a kid…
In other news, Jozy not in the 18 against Manchester City in the League Cup final.
