Michael Bradley, Mix Diskerud & Tim Ream withdraw from Ukraine friendly
March 1, 2014 (4:59 PM) by Matt Benson     Email This Post Email This Post

The US will have three fewer players for their upcoming friendly against Ukraine as Michael Bradley (injury), Mix Diskerud (injury) and Tim Ream (personal reasons) have withdrawn from the camp and friendly.  Also, no replacements will be added.

Bradley will stay in the US/Toronto due to a minor issue, while Diskerud will rest a hip injury that he picked up 10 days ago.  According to Diskerud, Rosenborg didn’t want to release him to the camp and US Soccer honored the objection.  With the US not pushing the issue on Rosenborg, I am wondering if Mix’s spot is somewhat safe among the “fringe” players (or US Soccer is agreeing since Rosenborg allowed Diskerud to spend all of January with the USMNT).

Any word if they’ll call in three more? There are a few younger guys “Over There” that could use a look.
