The OT Report – Wednesday Edition
January 30, 2014 (2:02 AM) by Matt Benson     Email This Post Email This Post

Five Americans saw the field on Wednesday, including Jozy Altidore’s Sunderland side getting the best of Geoff Cameron’s Stoke City.  I know some people have been down on Jozy lately, but it sounds like he did well.

Jozy Altidore (Sunderland – English Premier League) – Jozy got the start and played 67 minutes in Sunderland’s 1-0 victory over Stoke City.

Geoff Cameron (Stoke City – English Premier League) – Geoff got the start and went the full 90 minutes in Stoke City’s 1-0 loss to Sunderland.

Bryan Gerzicich (Hapoel Tel Aviv – Israeli Premier League) – Bryan came off the bench and played three minutes in Hapoel Tel Aviv’s 2-1 loss to Hapoel Haifa in the State Cup.

Brad Guzan (Aston Villa  – English Premier League) – Brad got the start and went the full 90 minutes in Aston Villa’s 4-3 victory over West Bromwich Albion.

Tony Taylor (Omonia Nicosia – Cypriot First Division) – Tony came off the bench and played 18 minutes in Omonia Nicosia’s 1-1 draw to Aris in the Cypriot Cup.

  1. CP says:

The Daily Mail gave Jozy a 5, which is stupid…Him drawing fouls (and a red card) is about the best thing he can do besides scoring for the team.

Also, is it me or do teams shoot much less from the left side against Stoke? Looking at the shots on goal over the last couple of matches, it seems that most teams shoot from the right, which I am wondering if it is another sign of how well Cameron is playing?
