  1. CP says:

Cameron has quickly become my favorite player. He is easily in the top half of defenders in the Premier league and who knows what his limit will be? Having gone the college route, he has had a latter start relative to most Europeans and is only starting to see his true potential come through.

  2. CP says:

I am fairly certain that Cameron is now part of the starting XI for Brazil. Only question is whether he replaces Evans at RB or Gonzalez at CB. I am kind of hoping it will be Gonzalez and then Cherundolo or Chandler beats out Evans. That lineup would significantly improve our chances of advancing out of the group stage.

  3. Dirk says:

@CP I have a feeling it will be at right back. Klinsman won’t play an untested CB in Brazil. Gonzo needs consistency.

  4. Gregory says:

Evans is not the best option at right back. Lichaj, Dolo or Chandler will start over Evans in Brazil. Danny Williams will also get back in the mix.

    What an ugly, ugly match

Just because evans is not the best option in anyones opinion doesn’t mean he won’t start. Going for as much continuity as possible, I don’t think lichaj, dolo, or chandler will have that spot. Praying it will be cameron, its either him or evans.

  6. Ilya says:

Against Ronaldo in particular, I would want Cameron over everyone at RB. Whoever plays there in that match won’t have a chance to make much of an offensive contribution anyway, and would need all the physicality, speed, focus and just plan grit that they could muster defensively.

  7. daniil says:

That’s a very good point, cameron is our only realistic option who can stick with ronaldo athletically at least

  8. CP says:

I am fine with Cameron at RB, but ideally I don’t want Gonzalez at CB (or Evans at RB or Beasley at LB)…I don’t know why Klinsmann insists on having a sub-optimal back 4. My dream line-up is…

    Altidore
    Donovan – Dempsey – Bedoya
    Bradley – Jones
    Johnson – Cameron – Besler – Chandler
    Howard

I think that would be our best chance of surviving the group stage…with a great mix of skill, tenacity, and speed throughout the line-up..Unfortunately, it is not in the cards as Donovan needs to pull some type of miracle off to send Fabian back to RB over Beasley, and there is no way Chandler gets to start at RB (he may not even make the team at this rate)..

Was it Cameron who made the cross on the first goal?
