Just a few links

Sorry for the lack of updates this week, but life (damn you, life!) has been getting in the way.  That said, here are a few links.

Jurgen Klinsmann has been doing a lot of Q&A’s with US Soccer’s website and I approve.  Here is his latest.  Reading between the lines a bit, it sounds like we will see Terrence Boyd, John Brooks and Fabian Johnson for the upcoming USMNT games.  Brooks and Johnson are both coming back from injury.

Speaking of Johnson’s injury, it sounds like he is returning to training this week and could possibly play this weekend.

As for some highlights from this weekend.  Charles Kazlauskas scored a goal on Monday.  Sacha Kljestan picked up an assist and two yellow cards against PSG while Jermaine Jones went 90 minutes against Chelsea in Champions League action.

Still no highlights at the moment, but Jozy Altidore had an assist in Sunderland’s 2-1 win over Southampton in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday.  Sunderland’s website called the pass “unselfish”.  And they have some photos up from the game, including a couple of Altidore.

Brian Sciaretta gives us his thoughts on the Julian Green situation.

Want a Top 100 list of American goalkeepers?  Will is a freak and has this list for you.

Number 35 on that list, San Jose’s David Bingham, is headed to FC Copenhagen for an extended training stint.  With the MLS season coming to an end, it is that time of year where various MLS players head to Europe for training wither various clubs.

Can’t believe you didnt save “Reading between the lines” for a mention of Danny Williams. GET IT!? CUZ HE PLAYS AT READING. /endjoke.

On the top 100 goalkeepers list (which everyone should view): I don’t get how we haven’t seen Steve Clark even once and why David Yelldell has only gotten one call-up.

Good luck to Bingham. FC Copenhagen are likely in the market for a goalkeeper from what I understand, so this may actually be the source of some future interest.

Joe Willis is better then Bill Hamid?

  3. daniil says:

Bingham has the athleticism to be a very good goalkeeper. Needs to develop, but a lot of upside
