  1. Gregory says:

Would love to see Parker on the bench for the USMNT. Even if he’s behind Altidore and Iceman, I like him over Eddie Johnson and Terrance Boyd.

Who knows he could even pair with Altidore and let Iceman move to CAM in case of injuries.

  2. Gregory says:

With that said I doubt Germany offers him a spot in Brazil.

  3. Trent Hill says:

Gregory–I think Parker is going to be ours. I think Germany is too loaded to truly offer him a good spot. similar to a Jermaine Jones situation–maybe you make a couple of appearances and ride the bench for Germany, or you could be a star for us in the long-term.

Iceman could play creative mid or left wing behind a Jozy/Parker pairing. We’ll find ways to get the best XI on the field.

  4. Jaime says:

I agree Trent , Parker is ours but we need to start calling him into the national team. Let’s assume he is in and features in 2014 who does he knock out of the roster ? Boyd, Donovan, Dempsey or Johnson ?

  5. Trent Hill says:

Dempsey and Donovan are midfielders by trade too, so it’s not necessary that they have to be knocked out. Up front — Altidore, Johansson, Boyd, and Parker would be the choices for me.

Dempsey and Donovan would feature as attacking mids or wingers–they both play well there. It’s all about getting the best 23 men to the WC and the best 11 on the field.
