A few more USMNT roster changes

There were some tweets that Eddie Johnson was hobbling off the field last night and now he has been officially ruled out for the upcoming games with a groin strain.

Chris Wondolowski has been called in to replace him, while Jurgen Klinsmann has decided to also call in Brad Davis and Clarence Goodson.  There was some speculation that Klinsmann was going to make some more roster additions since he only originally called in 20 players and he probably was making sure Davis and Goodson didn’t get hurt since they had MLS games last night and are idle this this weekend.

  1. daniil says:

Clarence goodson was far and away the best man on the pitch last night (quakes v caps). Moved the ball very well. Right now, Goodson looks the kind of dominant MLS player that dempsey hasn’t become yet.

  2. Trent Hill says:

I do not understand what has happened with Demps. On fire in England for a top club and then…..nothing.

  3. Aaron says:

Dempsey started slow at tottenham and fulham, hes a goal poaching CAM with limited creativity, it takes awhile for new teammates to adjust to his strengths in that position

  4. Cody says:

Remember when people said Dempsey was better than Donovan?

  5. Tim H. says:

Well, Dempsey is injured, hasn’t been game fit in a while, and is coming to a new league, so I wouldn’t exactly write him off or criticize him too harshly. These things take time.

  6. Mitch Malitz says:

As far as i know, only daniil said Dempsey was better than Donovan. Which is of course ridiculous. However, this recent run of form has nothing to do with that. He’ll find his way again.
