Costa Rica is up to some shenanigans links

The big story of Wednesday is all the shenanigans that Costa Rica is up to with the US.  Deadspin has a nice rundown of tweets of all the nonsense.  Grant Wahl also touches on the subject.  The US should warm-up in Bumpy Pitch’s Sno Fro shirts as a reminder.

Not surprising, tickets are going for large prices in Costa Rica.

While Jurgen Klinsmann told the press that Jozy Altidore is expected to play on Friday, Jozy was seen in sneakers, not cleats, and running on the side during training yesterday.

Mexican ref Marco Antonio Rodriguez was given the honors for Friday’s game.  An interesting stat courtesy of @DatoFutbol:

Jeff Carlisle talked to Michael Parkhurst down in Costa Rica and found out that Parkhurst had a possibility to go out on loan to Brondby, but turned it down due to their financial struggles.  The same sturggles that caused Clarence Goodson to leave the club.

FIFA.com has an interview up with Jermaine Jones.

Brian Sciaretta spoke to the newly confident Alejandro Bedoya about his surge with the USMNT this summer.

It looks like New England/MLS rejected a large bid from Stoke City for Juan Agudelo.  He is still headed there in January once his contract runs out.

Kyle Schnitzer caught up with Will Packwood to talk about his comeback to the field from his horrible fractured tibia and fibula.

Eric Lichaj went golfing with some Nottingham Forest players and I bet you can’t figure out which one is Eric from this photo.

Greg Seltzer gives us the latest info on Oguchi Onyewu and his quest to find a new home.

And Jason Davis wrote about Gedion Zelalem from an American soccer perspective yesterday.  Zelalem was officially promoted to Arsenal’s first team and will wear the “classic” #58.
