Terrence Boyd got the start and scored the game-tying goal in this 1-1 draw. Here are some highlights.
If Jozy can’t play, but Boyd get the late call?
Boyd’s not developing into the player we all hoped. He’s good, but it is a bad sign that Eddie Johnson has out-played Boyd for the USMNT.
Talking out of my a##, strikers/forwards should be close to their full potential by 22 or 23. Boyd really needs to step it up this season. I know it’s foolish to write-off a 22 year old, but for example he’s the same age as IceMan and Altidore is just a year older.
Wish we could have seen Boyd in the Gold Cup just to compare him with MLS talent.
Boyd wiill have a huge year this year and will get a positive transfer. He probably should be on the roster at 2014 and 2018

Boyd has yet to be given the same chances Johnson has with the national team. Maybe it’s obvious in training, but it’s hard to compare the two based on playing time. It would have been nice to see him get some substantial time during the Gold Cup instead of the 5-10 minute cameos he’s usually been given. I will say that as much as I admire his passion, he sometimes needs to reign it in and control his emotions.
Right now eddie is better than boyd, but id reckon rapid wien have better facilities, coaching, and training. Not always the case, just usually. He looks a much improved player, and he’s settled in with the team. I don’t think he’ll be important for us, but he’ll be around.

Boyd hasn’t even seen much time with the USMNT–so hard to judge him based on the short cameos we’ve seen. The ceiling on Boyd seems pretty high to me–as he’s currently scoring goals for fun.
