Rumored USMNT players so far for Bosnia friendly
August 9, 2013 (12:44 AM) by Matt Benson     Email This Post Email This Post

Don’t expect the USMNT roster to be officially announced until Monday, but thanks to the internet sleuthing of Grant Wahl, Josh Deaver and others, the following players look to be headed to Sarajevo:

Anthony Brooks
Aron Johannsson
Bobby Wood
Danny Williams
Alfredo Morales
Jermaine Jones
Eddie Johnson
Brad Evans
Terrence Boyd

One player not headed to Bosnia is Clint Dempsey according to Wahl.  This is not surprising since he just made a move to Seattle and everyone knows where he stands within the USMNT picture.  Paul Carr also tells us that Bosnia will be the 23rd straight US game that Dempsey and Donovan haven’t played together.  I also doubt Alejandro Bedoya gets called in after just making his move.

I really like this roster, I am hoping Michael Bradley and Cameron get the call also..

  2. Ufficio says:

    Morales? Really?

Certainly hope Mix gets the call.

  3. Chris says:

The only one i diagree with is morales, not cause hes a bad player, but if danny williams and jones are called in theres no need for him. Also not sure I’d bring in EJ.
    My predicted 23-
    GK-Howard, Guzan, Clark
DEF-Besler, Gonzo, Cameron, Brooks, DMB, Lichaj, Chandler, Parkhurst
MID-Jones, Williams, Bradley, Diskerud, Zusi, Gyau, Corona, O’Brien
FWD-Donovan or EJ, Johansson, Boyd and Wood

-Id leave dempsey, altidore and bedoya off the team because of their recent moves this summer
-No f. Johson or dolo due to injury
    -Bradley as captain

There will be 10 plyers or so that no one has ever heard of…this is a throw away match due to the timing.

  5. Chris says:

@euroman-In international football there is no such things as a throw away match, you get about 15-20 games a year, every one matters

  6. Todd T says:

Well, not sure a game against Bosnia is a throw away match, yes it is a friendly but there should be a lot of talent on both sides. Not sure there are 10 players that I haven’t heard of? Maybe 2 that I haven’t seen play for the US…Brooks and A J…other then that everybody else I have seen.

  7. Jaime says:

Todd I could not agree with you more.. Euroman get with the program… LOL

  8. morty says:

Klinsmann doesn’t schedule “throw away matches.” Ever.

  9. Vladimir Putin says:

But that’s not even 11 players! You will lose! Muahahaha

  10. Bird says:

Bobby Wood starting today for 1860 and just had a nice flick on header to assist on a goal in the 10th minute. Nicely done, he is playing well again this match, he has also had some nice touches and it was his hold up play that led to the chance in the first place.

I wonder what our chances of making it into the top 8 are…
I think I’m going to do a lot of simulating this weekend

  12. daniil says:

Oops, posted that in the wrong place *facepalm*

  13. Chris says:

@danlil, i was actually curious about this so i did some simulating on the fifa website. Interestingly i found out even if we lose to bosnia we will gain quite a bit of points and likely move up a couple spots, dont ya love the fifa rankings.

  14. Matt says:

It looks like Sacha Kljestan is another name to add to the list.
