Eugene Starikov is officially on loan with Tom Tomsk

Again.

The 24 year-old spent parts of the 2010 and 2011 seasons on loan in Siberia, where his play in fall 2010 was intriguing enough to get a callup to January camp in 2011. (He ultimately scored two goals in thirty apperances.) After dropping off the radar/not playing for Zenit St. Petersburg’s first team, he was loaned to FC Rostov last year, where once again he scored twice (this team in just nine appearances).

OT readers interested in watching Starikov in person would be well-advised to make their trips sooner or much later. The average high in Tomsk is 23.4°F…in November. It’s 12°F in December, 9°F in January, and 14.7°F in February. They also average 140 snowy days/year. After reading that, I will refrain from complaining about Iowa weather for at least the first week of winter this year.

    Dempsey to Seattle?

ugh… a transfer would have been so much better.

  3. Trent Hill says:

Transfer definitely would’ve been better. I was hoping to see him move to Austria, Ukraine, Turkey, or Switzerland. Somewhere with a decent league that might get him a better transfer and more playing time.
