Sunderland vs. Tottenham Highlights
July 24, 2013 (11:08 AM) by Matt Benson     Email This Post Email This Post

Jozy Altidore, Clint Dempsey and Brad Friedel have now faced off against each other as Sunderland and Tottenham met up in a Barclays Asia Trophy match in Hong Kong on Wednesday.  Both Dempsey and Altidore started for their teams, while Friedel came off the bench in the second half for Spurs.  Tottenham took a 1-0 lead, but Jozy Altidore assisted on Sunderland’s first goal and he nearly scored on Friedel in the second half as the Black Cats pumped in two more goals to win 3-1.  Here are the highlights, including Jozy’s assist.

Looks like Altidore is going to be a handful for EPL defenders this season. Should probably of had at least two goals in this game. Decent assist.

  2. Jeffrey says:

That field looks great for some pre-thanksgiving dinner American football, not so much for a couple EPL teams. What happened? did the tide come in right before the game.

  3. daniil says:

nice assist for jozy, that was a real nicely worked shot. agree with 2tone, he looks up to speed

and deuce, as always, is cursed by the fact that the man he plays into the box is always adebayor.

  4. Jerry says:

And I thought the field they are playing on tonight looked bad, where was that played?

  5. Trent Hill says:

Altidore has to finish those chances though. Here’s hoping he will once the EPL starts.

  6. Dirk says:

There was a literal monsoon downpour right before the game started….In Hong Kong.
