Derby County want to send Conor Doyle on loan to MLS
July 3, 2013 (9:09 AM) by Howie Michaels     Email This Post Email This Post

With the recently-extended forward having seen sparse minutes in England, Derby would like to see Doyle spend some time playing in MLS.

“There are a few obstacles to overcome with the MLS* but hopefully we can work our way through them,” said Rams manager Nigel Clough.

“Conor is training full time with Colorado Rapids, which is good.

“A six-month loan spell would do him the world of good.

“We just want to get him playing some games.

“If not in America, we will try and get him fixed up in England.”

*- mainly the fact that MLS doesn’t even understand its own rules.- ed.

He’s been training with the Colorado Rapids, although he would technically be subject to a weighted lottery. Not sure if MLS would sign off on a short-term loan that lacked any sort of option to buy. Also I enjoy the assumption that a player who hasn’t seen a ton of action would step right in and be a regular in MLS for the second half of the season.

didn’t you know that all MLS players are no talent hacks and easily replaced by anyone who an English team deems acceptable?(tung firmly in cheek):)
