Random things for Monday

So yesterday was a fun one.  I know it was only a friendly and a “weaker” squad, but it is still nice to beat Germany.

If you missed out on the phone, here are the highlights.  I am hoping going to do another stat dump either later tonight or tomorrow looking at this game and Friday’s game against Jamaica.  I am also going to setup our first “Guess the Score” contest in a while either Tuesday or Wednesday for the Jamaica game.

Here are 10 things that we didn’t learn according to The Shin Guardian.

Moving on to some new kits for next season, here is a look at Terrence Boyd and Rapid Vienna’s new home kit.

And here is what Seb Hines and Middlesbrough will be wearing next season.

Greg Seltzer has a couple nuggets up on Michael Parkhurst and Maurice Edu.

Kyle Scott, a U-16 British-American midfielder at Chelsea, is being targeted by some big teams in Europe.  He has been playing with England’s youth teams, so who knows if the US is in the picture or not.

It looks like most people like Mix Diskerud’s middle name the best out of all the players on the provisional Gold Cup roster.

While US-Germany was the main attraction on Sunday, we did have some players score some goals at the club level.  Justin Moose scored for SJK against KooTeePee (still my favorite team name).  Marc Heider scored for Holstein Kiel against Hessen Kassel in the German Regionalliga.  And back in Finland, Christian Eissele scored three goals in Kemi Kings’ win over ORPa.  That gives Eissele 12 goals across all competitions since January 1.  You can keep up-to-date with all these goals with our goal tracker.
