100 Moments: Dos a Cero Starts in Columbus
   February 28, 2013 (10:02 PM) by Matt

ussoccer.com continues its “100 Moments” series with a look at one of the most memorable games of the past 25 years: the FIFA World Cup Qualifier on Feb. 28, 2001 between the USA and Mexico. A raucous crowd was on hand at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio to witness the USA beat their arch-rival 2-0 to start the “dos a cero” trend that would become so memorable over the next decade. Jeff Agoos, Josh Wollf and former head coach Bruce Arena reflect on the game. The 100 Moments series is part of the U.S. Soccer Federation’s Centennial celebrations in 2013.

And if you have 90 minutes to kill, here is the full match.

    Remember that game well!!!!!

Is it just me, or was that 2002 team (and that generation of USA teams for that matter) so much better, more organized, and more mature than anything we’ve seen in the past 5 years?
