US U-20 vs. Haiti Highlights
   February 18, 2013 (5:52 PM) by Matt

The US opened up the 2013 CONCACAF U-20 Championship with a 2-1 win over Haiti.  It wasn’t pretty, but it is three points.  I will try to post full highlights later, but here are the US’s two goals.  Daniel Cuevas, the scorer of the second goal, was probably the most impressive for the US.  Although my man of the match was the random marching/pep band that was in the crowd.

1 – Worst referee I’ve seen…EVER. He should probably be getting a call up soon
2 – This team isn’t very good. Gil, Villareal and Rodriguez were sub par.
    3 – The US got 3 points!!!
4 – This team just needs to qualify and then hopefully we get some of the better players on the roster.
5 – Pelosi breaking his ankle really puts a damper on this summer – if we qualify.

  2. Ufficio says:

Honestly, we completely sucked. It would have been 7-2 if Haiti didn’t get shovel feet every time they were in the box.

It was worth it just to see Cuevas, though. I can’t remember the last time I’d seen a US player actually try to take someone off the dribble and succeed.

Missing Packwood and Pelosi, sure. Cuevas and Gil were the bright spots for me, I think Joya will show better in the future.

    Backline looked ROUGH.
