  1. Mitch Malitz says:

Dempsey has to find a way to get more involved. Too many times he’s gone absent this season. Luckily for him Defoe went down today. Other wise, he’s going to play himself out of this starting line up sooner or later

  2. Mitch Malitz says:

He seems to find it daunting at times to be surrounded by so much talent. Hes afraid to show his own, subsequently

  3. Thursby says:

    Mitch:

He had 5 shots, the only person who had more was Bale with 9. I am starting to notice trend with some people, that if Dempsey doesn’t score its a bad game. There is more to his game then that.

Also, if anyone on that team is afraid to show his “talent” its Dembele. Take a damn shot!

  4. Daniil says:

im with thursby on this one. anytime dempsey doesnt score all I can hear is how useless he is, particularly with Holtby now in the side. makes me rather sad how english fans would rather have a kraut running around their pitch than an american.

as a good english friend of mine once satirically said, “Americans playing football? thats almost as ridiculous as girls playing football.”

an equalizer and a winner against Man-U couldnt do it, i fear dempsey will never really win fair respect from the north london poms.

  5. Dirk says:

Bale is a monster. World class.

  6. Mitch Malitz says:

If you watched the full ninety minutes game in and game out you would be of a different opinion. I’m his biggest fan. That being said, if he continues to ghost around the pitch in this fashion, he’ll be replaced with Adebayor in rhe side more often than not. That’s a fact.

  7. Mitch Malitz says:

Stat sheet says 5 shots. Reality is that he goes backwards too much, and is still CLEARLY adjusting to his teammates. Anyone who knows clint can see his discomfort on display out there at times. I’m still confident he’ll find his way though.

  8. Mitch Malitz says:

As of late he’s found the net more often, but still not his niche.

  9. Thursby says:

I did watch the full 90 minutes. He had a solid game. He did a lot of work off the ball. Clint made runs into the box, that dragged defenders with him and freed up space for other players. He also held up the ball well, and distributed it out wide.

Also, I think some people are projecting their own insecurities on Dempsey. They seem to think the whole future success of USA players on big clubs rests on the shoulders of Deuce.

Clint put in more work in the first 15 minutes, then Adebayor has put in the whole season. The only reason he even sees the pitch is because of his cost.
