Brek Shea to Stoke City is finally official.  He signed a four-and-a-half year contract with the Potters.  He just needs to get his visa squared away after getting his work permit earlier today.

“It’s fantastic news that we have been able to push through the deal,” said Pulis. “Brek is a very, very exciting player, and one who we firmly believe could go on to become an outstanding player for this Football Club.

“He has terrific pace, a very good left foot and is capable of scoring goals. He has all the tools needed to be a success here.”

Shea left Stoke City’s facilities to the chants of “U-S-Shea” by Stoke City’s fans and gave the always fun car interview to Sky Sports.

I hope I’m a jack-off that knows nothing about soccer and Shea becomes an EPL starter. Hopefully the EPL play elevates his game like Stuart Holden.

  2. daniil says:

At his best, I can see Shea getting to the level of Clint Dempsey. I think he has the potential… its all about how hard he’ll work, if he can stay healthy, and how Stoke handle him. Its not gonna happen right away, but we’ll see… I think in a couple years he can be a 10-15 goal scorer

  3. Ian says:

Dat hair…More to he point, this is the fourth signing from MLS to the EPL during this transfer window that I can think of: Espinoza to Wigan, Kamara to Norwich, Shea to Stoke, Dawkins to Aston Villa (not technically from MLS but I’m gonna count it) Can anyone think of someone I didn’t mention? Also, let’s not forget Andy Najar’s move to perennial Belgian champs Anderlect. That’s a lot of talent MLS has to replace, but it’s great for showing players and fans that the MLS is definitely a respectable league.

  4. Ian says:

And it looks like he’s hiding a ball under his shirt too…

  5. Ian says:

    Duh! Beckham to PSG too!

  6. daniil says:

    Dat 5 month contract…

  7. Trent Hill says:

Definitely lots of talent moving from MLS to Europe–which is good. Shows we’re a legit league developing talent.
