Lets start off the links with something I did for another site. The guys over at The Inside Left asked me to put together an all-time Yanks Abroad XI, so I obliged. So check that out (at least for some of the old photos).
Everyone should be a regular listener by now, but Tim Howard was on the Men in Blazers podcast this week to talk about Everton and the upcoming Hex.
Two guys who are likely not going to Honduras since they are flying back to Norway? Josh Gatt and Mix Diskerud.
Thanks to reporter Sacha Kljestan for reporting that the Belgian press is talking about a US-Belgian friendly for this summer. That would probably go along with the rumored friendly against Germany this summer. These friendlies plus the Hex plus the Gold Cup. An exciting summer is ahead of us.
The US U-20 team is already without Will Packwood in the back and now Anthony Brooks has been called in for a Germany U-20 friendly.
Today is Deadline Day and the guys over at Futbol Intellect created a bingo card for the day.
Monmouth University product RJ Allen has signed with Danish 1st Division side Skive.
Shawn Parker has signed an extension with Mainz through the 2017 season.
And finally, club officials at Den Bosch are attempting to punish the fans who directed racists taunts at Jozy Altidore earlier this week.

Anthony Brooks wasn’t going to be let go for the U.S. WCQ team anyway. We will find out by the summer if Anthony Brooks will play for the U.S. or Germany. If the U.S. U-20′s qualify then Brooks will have a decision to make; considering Germany didn’t qualify for the U-20 WC. Getting called into friendlies really means nothing.
Awesome job on the all-time Yanks Abroad XI. I love the gnarly picture of Thomas Dooley.
Sending Gatt back makes no sense with Shea injured. I understand Mix is young so that’s probably okay.
Sorry Matt but I got to say Jermaine Jones is the only snub I can make an argument for. HAHA I know he could be left off due to technicalities, something like he only gets credit for seasons since 2010, or that you would actually rather have Bradley and Reyna on the field together. To defend Jones he has played in 18 Champs Legue matches and counting. I hope that stat is true. Don’t mean to be hypercritical but I think J.Jones deserves the honorable mention.
I also know J.Jones was loaned out to Aston Villa when Schakle made their semi-final run in the Champs League.
Gregory, that is a good pick. The two hardest things I found were Berhalter vs. Bocanegra for the last CB spot and Bradley vs. a couple names for the last CM spot.
Shawn Parker was also on the list there for Germany u-20 call-up
