Conor O’Brien is reportedly heading to Odense BK
   January 28, 2013 (11:46 AM) by Howie

According to Danish media, the 24 year-old New York native is set to sign with Odense BK (better known as OB).

Odense is currently 4th in the SuperLiga, which would put them in line for a berth to Europa League. It would be another impressive step up for the free agent midfielder, who started his career with Blokuhus in the third tier (after having been undrafted out of Bucknell) before spending the last 1.5 seasons with SønderjyskE (who currently sit 9th in the table).

Do you think staying in Denmark would be a good move for O’Brien? Think playing for a Europa League side next season would be enough to finally get Klinsi’s attention?

I don’t know if we’re still counting Aron Johannsson as an American, but I saw some comments yesterday that he had been signed by AZ. I’m not sure how reliable the sources are on this one though.

  2. Piaggio says:

He should have been in the January camp

  3. Steffen says:

I was hoping for more for O’Brien…like a mid-table Dutch side…or at worst a Nordsjælland type…but I guess the offers weren’t out there.

  4. Trent Hill says:

He definitely should’ve been called up to Jan camp. But it’s possible this transfer required his attention. This is a good move, and he’s only 24. One good season could see him moving again next summer.

Aron Johansson is being sought out by AZ, but it isnt a done deal yet. Im hoping it goes through–having Jozy as his striker partner would be a good thing. Klinsmann could ask Jozy to be a team-player and try to recruit him a bit.
