Wednesday night link action
December 4, 2012 (11:04 PM) by Matt Benson     Email This Post Email This Post

We got links.  Click on them and read them.  Or not.

The Colorado Rapids have a few players currently training at Derby County with all four of them starting for Derby County in a scrimmage against Notts County on Tuesday.  Midfielder Tony Cascio even scored the first goal of the game.

Clarence Goodson has returned to training at Brondby this week after suffering a concussion last week.

Ryan Miller is currently weighing his options between re-signing with Halmstads BK versus some opportunities in Germany.

Jon-Paul Pittman will be out a few weeks (up to a couple months) with an arm/shoulder injury he picked up in a recent game for Oxford United.

Michael Orozco Fiscal is headed to Puebla next season on loan with the club having the option to buy after the season ends in June.

Possible (or maybe not) USMNTer Aron Johannsson scored a hell of a goal this past weekend.

Brad Guzan played so well this past weekend that he was named to ESPN’s and BBC Sport’s Garth Crooks’ teams of the week.

BBC Sport also has a nice story up on Oguchi Onyewu.

It’d be nice to get Johansson. He’s so good.

It’ll also be interesting to see if he chooses Iceland, how much Siggurdson and Johansson improve their team.

  2. 2tone says:

Could Brad Guzan replace Howard as the #1 for the USMNT? His play in the EPL would suggest he might be closer to gaining the #1 from Howard than previously thought. But I don’t see Guzan becoming the #1 until after 2014.

Sounds like you are feeling unappreciated. Just so you know I check this website out several times a day and I feel lucky that you do all the work you do!!!!

Now more then ever when we are about to go into the darkness of the winter break…I NEED MY FIX OF US SOCCER NEWS!!!!!

So thanks so much for your efforts!!!!! and keep the info coming because like most of us crazy soccer fans…I can’t get enough.(Always felt I should have born in a different country because I love the game so much…at 46 it is nice to see the growing multitude of people like me in the USA…and your website spurs on the evolution and revolution”

I am not feeling unappreciated, but thanks for the comments.

It was more me being tired and weird at night. I get bored of intro-ing every other post with “here are some links you should check out”, so I decided to put something weird.

another thing to keep in mind about johansson is that if he chooses iceland he is not a game-changing player for them. They have a few forwards that are good goalscorers in scandanavian leagues and two guys that they’re high on the netherlands, one of whom is the eredivisie’s #2 goalscorer right now (just ahead of altidore)
