Robbie Findley is headed to Gillingham on loan
September 21, 2012 (8:06 AM) by Matt Benson     Email This Post Email This Post

Robbie Findley will have a new home for the next month as he has signed a one-month loan deal with English League Two side Gillingham.

Findley played in 23 league games for Nottingham Forest last season, but has yet to see the field in 2012-13.  He will join a team that is currently in first place of the League Two table.  The Gills have won six of their first seven games and sit in first with 19 points.

His first chance for playing time will be tomorrow when Gillingham heads to Port Vale.

Wikipedia fun fact:  There are five members of the Gillingham Hall of Fame, including current Hull City manager Steve Bruce, who scored 29 goals in 205 appearances for the Gills between 1979 and 1984.

I think it’s time to give the Championship credit. MLS players rarely start and contribute upper Championship teams.

Is Tim Ream hurt? He is not making the bench. I wonder if he was purchased to be a sweeper type when Boltonplayed prevent Defense in the EPL, now that they are in the Championship, Ream’s role is lost. I have no idea I just hope Ream is not another American lost in the Championship.

I agree greg, i think ream, gonzo and george john are the future of our cbs. Depending on where cameron plays hes in there too. I think hes hurt tho cuz he hasnt even made the bench.
I also always kinda liked findley, think he is a nice speedy striker, but with our surprising depth up front he probably will never be called up again.

Ream was cut from the 18 since his performance before the break was horrific.
