Here is your US-Jamaica pre-game primer
September 6, 2012 (10:02 PM) by Matt Benson     Email This Post Email This Post

Here is quick rundown on things you might want to look at before tomorrow’s game.

» The game is at 8 PM Eastern on beIN SPORT.  US Soccer has some viewing information about beIN right here.

» US Soccer gives us their game notes with their usual stats and facts.  I also looked at the all-time series the other day and Howie took a look at the last meeting.

» US Soccer did a Q&A with Clint Dempsey this week.  They also have a story on the team ending some streaks this year.  Could the US drought on Jamaican soil during qualifiers end tomorrow night?

» Over at ESPN, Jeff Carlisle has a good story about Terrence Boyd’s decision to play for the US.  Roger Bennett also has a story up on Geoff Cameron and I am linking it solely based on his use of “quarterback style” (if you listen to the Men in Blazers podcast, which you should be doing, you will get the reference).

» Timothy Chandler says he is still open to playing with the US in the future.

» According to Steven Goff,  “ice picks” and “machetes” are not permitted inside stadium.  Oh CONCACAF.  Goff also has some quotes from Jurgen Klinsmann and Clint Dempsey about Dempsey’s fitness.

» You can read The Shin Guardian’s match preview right here.  Will Parchman gives us five things to watch.

As for my random/baseless prediction, I am going with a 1-1 draw.  I might set up a OT shirt/guess the score contest for Tuesday’s game.

  1. Manuel says:

Chandler will only decide to play for the US again once they qualify for the world cup(I hope) and Germany doesn’t call him up…

  2. LaMichael says:

chandler isnt good enough to get called up for germany. i hope he realizes that! But he could be a stud for the US

  3. William says:

Yes, Phillipp Lahm isn’t going anywhere Chandler…neither is Boateng

  4. Daniil says:

Chandler can do whatever he wants. Id rather have a player who is commited to the side.
