Hump day links
   August 29, 2012 (10:22 PM) by Matt

It is Wednesday and here are some links.

Michael Bradley picked up a thigh injury and will be out of Roma’s game this weekend.  There is even some speculation that he could miss the upcoming qualifiers against Jamaica.

With Bradley’s and Edgar Castillo’s injuries and some unsettled club situations for a couple other players, Brian Sciaretta lists out the recent concerns with the upcoming USMNT games and the roster.

Speaking of rosters for that week, Jamaica released their roster for the two games.

Sciaretta also recently caught up with Jozy Altidore to talk about the upcoming qualifiers.

You want some quotes from Jost Gatt?  How about one interview with Gatt?  That does nothing for you, well, here is a second interview with Gatt.

Nothing new to report on the potential Joe Gyau-to-St. Pauli loan deal, but here is a photo of Gyau in training with St. Pauli.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist is hoping that Carlos Bocanegra will still be with the club once the transfer window closes.

With all signs pointing towards Oguchi Onyewu on his way out with Sporting CP, here are the latest rumors/rumblings with him.

Injuries will always happen, having depth at midfield is nice.

Thank goodness Jamaica did not have anymore UK-born defectors. This squad only has 1 EPL player and 2 Championship players.

Always keep in mind the Reggae Boyz have claim to dozens of EPL and Championship players.

  2. chris says:

My squad for the jamaica games-
    GK-Howard, Rimando, Guzan
DEF-Goodson, Gonzalez, John, Ream, Johnson, Cherundolo, Lichaj, Chandler
MID-Jones, Williams, Beckerman, Kljesten, Shea, Torres, Adu, Beasley
    FWD-Donovan, Altidore, Agudelo, Gomez

  3. 2tone says:

    Ream has been called up.

Don’t really understand that call-up really because Ream has been sitting on the bench for Bolton.

  4. chris says:

Ream has been getting some time, also we are very depleted at cb right now. Bocanegra is looking for a new club, as is onyewu and is cameron a cb or a cdm? Because whatever the club does with a player, the national team should follow. I mean I guess I could see parkhurst instead of ream, or maybe like an orozco or whitbread, but i kinda like the ream call up. He probably wont touch the field but its still good to get young players experience with the squad

  5. 2tone says:

There really is not much difference between CDM and CB. CDM just happens to be a position that is in front of the CB’s. The way Cameron was playing CDM was him sitting in front of the CB’s anyway’s which just makes it like having three CB’s on the field.

Cameron will be the USMNt’s starting CB with probably Boca.

  6. chris says:

I dont know if boca will be called up, he hasnt played against quality competition since june with the usmnt
