A few things I missed earlier this week.

» Calmer waters await Kljestan in Belgium []

» Bradley, Gladbach ready for new campaign []

» Badr excited for Porto season [Yanks Abroad]

» Lacey Polonia trial derailed by injury [Yanks Abroad]

» Altidore hoping for Villarreal chance [Yanks Abroad]

Also, I don’t know if other people have been experiencing this recently with the site, but the site has been loading slow for me (both on the main page and on the behind the scenes stuff), but I updated the software today and things seem to be loading faster.  But if you guys continue to have a problem or so in a week, let me know, so I figure out what is wrong.

Tyrel Lacey could be headed to Poland
July 29, 2010 (12:08 AM) by Matt Benson

American goalkeeper Tyrel Lacey might have found a new home after his former club, Norwegian side FC Lyn Oslo, disbanded after declaring for bankruptcy last month.

The 24-year-old goalie has popped up in Poland this week training for Polonia Warszawa.

Club manager Daniel Purzycki has told journalists that a decision on singing a contract with Lacey will be taken after a legal expertise is drafted on procedural matters.

Lacey would replace Polonia’s Number One goalkeeper Arkadiusz Onyszko, who has had to  stay away from the pitch for many months due to serious kidney trouble.

Polonia Warszawa plays in the Ekstraklasa, the top of the Polish league system, and is the oldest club in Warsaw (founded in 1911).  Polonia Warszawa also made it to the third qualifying round of last year’s Europa League before getting knocked out by NAC Breda.

Around the world in a few links
June 30, 2010 (9:40 PM) by Matt Benson

Some smaller, but interesting items worth checking out this Wednesday from across the interwebs.  And to answer Howie’s question in the previous entry about Roy Hodgson leaving Fulham, it does not make me happy about the future of the Cottagers.

Lets start off with a sit down video interview with Sacha Kljestan.

I thought being cut or released from a team would be rough, but how about a whole team folding due to bankruptcy causing everyone to become a free agent?  This happened in Norway and American goalkeeper Tyrel Lacey is looking for a new job.

Greg Seltzer went crazy over at today and tells us that Clarence Goodson should be leaving IK Start soon on a summer transfer, Chris Rolfe and Marcus Tracy might miss the beginning of the Danish Superliga due to lingering injuries and he takes a stab at possible guys for the US roster for the 2014 World Cup.
