This week has been a crazy one for me and of course 2354356456 guys have scored goals this week. As always, our goal tracker has a bunch of information on who scored and links to those available highlights.
As for some of the highlights of recent goals, we have had goals by Bobby Wood, Shawn Barry, Fabian Johnson, Björn Maars Johnsen (and again), Aron Johannsson, Mario Rodriguez, Christian Eissele, Eugene Starikov, Luca de la Torre, Nermin Crnkic, Jakeem Johnson and Russell Canouse.
Julian Green scored a goal yesterday with Bayern Munich II. Haven’t found highlights yet, but here is a photo of him celebrating the goal.
To go with his goal from the weekend (linked above), Mario Rodriguez scored again yesterday.
Rubio Rubin came off the bench and scored a goal in the Dutch Cup earlier this week.
Cameron Carter-Vickers wore the captain’s armband and scored a goal for Tottenham’s U-21 team earlier this week.
As for Fabian Johnson’s goal linked above, it came in the fifth minute and according to Paul Carr, that would be the earliest Bundesliga goal by an American since Tony Sanneh in 1999.
DeAndre Yedlin made his Sunderland debut this week in a 4-1 loss to Manchester City in the League Cup. He assisted on Sunderland’s lone goal. Someone made a video of his performance. Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat had some nice things to say about him. Greg Seltzer also broke down his debut.
The Fighting Bob Bradleys were knocked out by Rosenborg in the semifinals of the Norwegian Cup yesterday in overtime.
Tim Howard’s shutout over the weekend was his 128th in the Premier League, tying him with Peter Schmeichel for ninth most all-time.
