But some other non-goal scoring noteworthy stuff happened this past weekend as well. Brad Guzan now leads all Premier League goalkeepers in clean sheets this season after posting a 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield (highlights). He was happy about the win.
Brek Shea made his Birmingham City debut and assisted on the Blues’ lone goal in their 1-1 draw to Leeds United (highlights). His performance was also worthy of Man of the Match honors by Birmingham City’s fans.
Julian Green also made his Hamburg debut, getting the start but getting subbed out at halftime of their 2-0 loss to Hannover 96. By most accounts, he was pretty so-so. Here is a photo of him in action (I really do like those white shirts). And Hamburg’s manager Mirko Slomka was fired.

The US U-20 team takes on the Argentina U-20 team later today. They are 2-0-0 on their trip so far with wins over Racing Club Reserves and Defensa y Justicia Reserves. Bradford Jamieson IV has the best name ever. I want him to make it to the USMNT so I can get his jersey someday.
After a few weeks of speculation, DeAndre Yedlin’s transfer to Tottenham has become official. He will spend the rest of the MLS season with Seattle before joining up with Tottenham for the 2015-16 season. There is some confusion on what will happen to him between the end of the MLS season and 2015-16 as that is a lot of time (and you would figure that he would be in the USMNT’s plans for the 2015 Gold Cup).

Sources are telling Ives that Sacha Kljestan might be headed on loan to the LA Galaxy. The loan would last through the 2014 MLS season then the Galaxy would hopefully find a way to pay him DP money after that. Some people are wondering if MLS might create a fourth DP slot. But obviously this is all speculation at this point.
While Matt Besler just got that DP money in Kansas City, Besler told Goal.com “never say never” about any potential move to Europe in the future.
