JIPPO vs. HIFK Highlights
July 20, 2014 (2:06 PM) by Matt Benson

This game was from Thursday in Finland, but Nathan Stockie and Miles Byass both went 90 minutes with Byass scoring a pretty nice goal in JIPPO’s 4-2 loss to HIFK.  Here are some highlights from the Finnish Ykkönen with Byass’ goal coming at the 4:42 mark.

A little bit over everything for Tuesday
April 29, 2014 (12:01 AM) by Matt Benson

Another weekend with a bunch of goals scored.

Instead of linking all the ones that I have found highlights of so far, just check out the goal tracker for all of that.  That said, Miles Byass scored one of the better goals you will see this season over the weekend.  Patrick Hopkins also scored a goal for Sirius in a 3-1 win on Monday, but I haven’t found any highlights of the goal yet.

Not a goal, but Jose Torres assisted on Tigres’ game-winning goal this weekend.

John Brooks’ goal and strong play earned him a spot on Kicker’s Bundesliga Team of the Week.

Staying in Germany, Joe Gyau made his Bundesliga debut over the weekend, coming off the bench and playing 21 minutes in Hoffenheim’s 0-0 draw.

And Timothy Chandler finally returned to the field for Nurnberg, seeing his first action since February in Nurnberg’s 2-0 loss.

Julian Green hasn’t returned from his shoulder injury, but it looks like he did some interview with Julie Foudy this week.

Fresh off his contract extension, Tim Howard told ESPN that he plans on retiring once his contract ends after 2017-18.

Toronto FC didn’t have a game this past weekend so Michael Bradley had a minor procedure on his foot to fix a nerve issue.

Clint Dempsey continued his scoring tear over the weekend by scoring two goals (Goal 1 & Goal 2). From what I can find, Dempsey is the first MLS player with 8+ goals through a player’s first six games since Edson Buddle in 2010.

One other MLS tidbit (on a fellow USMNTer), Brad Evans played 45 minutes with Seattle’s reserve team and played at right back as Jurgen Klinsmann wants to see him play there more.

The Daily Mail did a worst XI for the Premier League season and while Jozy Altidore is not on it, he did get some consideration.

Selecting the worst forwards of this season was particularly tough, with the likes of Roberto Soldado, Kostas Mitroglou, Jozy Altidore, and Dani Osvaldo all making credible cases for inclusion.

CONCACAF and CONMEBOL have scheduled a press conference for Thursday and all signs point towards the long-rumored 2016 Copa America taking place in the US.

Fulham’s U-18 team defeated Chelsea 3-2 in the first leg of the FA Youth Cup Final with Emerson Hyndman scoring a goal.  Here is a photo of Hyndman celebrating the goal and hopefully highlights will appear in the near future.

The US U-21 team finished up their camp last week with a 2-1 win over Tijuana’s reserve team.  Benji Joya scored both goals for the US and US Soccer put up some highlights from the friendly.  SI’s Liviu Bird talked to Jordan Morris following the camp.

We have had a few U-18 players sign with teams in Europe in the last couple months and now you can add Mukwelle Akale to the list.  The 17-year-old attacking midfielder is headed to Spain to sign a pre-contract with Villarreal.

Howie posted this on Friday, but Mike Grella is returning to the US after signing with the Carolina RailHawks.

February 10, 2014 (9:00 AM) by Matt Benson

Former San Diego State forward Miles Byass is now with FF Jaro in Finland and scored a goal against SJK in the Finnish League Cup last Wednesday.  Justin Moose also came off the bench for SJK in this one.  Here are some highlights, including Byass’ goal at the very beginning.
